Production, Distribution, Marketing, Exhibition

Production – Preps made for the shoot. Cast and film crew are selected. Location is decided and sets are made. The film is shot(raw material). The images, sounds, and visual effects are added during editing. Financing is also a part of the production as producers need to find someone to pay for the things needed.

Distribution – This is often referred to as the ‘invisible art.’ It is the most important part of the film industry. It is releasing and sustaining films in the market place. Distributed to cinemas and released on home entertainment. It is selling the rights for them to show the movie. The money made goes to the conglomerate.

Marketing – Films buy advertising places such as billboards and buses to display their advertisement of the movie their so people see it and want to go to watch it. Types of marketing – Billboards, bus ads, trailers etc.

Exhibition – The main way of exhibiting movies are at cinemas and on DVD/Blu ray. They can be exhibited online and also on TV – sky movies. Sometimes movies are exhibited illegally online. This is piracy.
