Thor The Dark World is a 2013 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Thor. The film is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the second Thor movie. The film was directed by Alan Taylor.
The stars in the film are Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellen Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Jamie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. The target audience for the film is for people aged 14-24.
The budget was £150,000,000. In Europe Thor 2 released on the 30th October. In other parts of the world it is being released from the 30th October to the 1st of January. It is in all cinemas such as Cineworld, Odeon and Vue. It will be available in 2D, 3D, Blu-ray and DVD.
In April 2013 Marvel released a first trailer for Thor 2 and a second trailer was released on August 2013. Disney announced plans to promote the film with an attraction at Disneyland called 'Treasures of Asgard' with features displays of Asgardian relics and transports guests to Odin's throne room, where they are greeted by Thor.
